Kylie and Xavier Lopez - Winner !
The end has come...my jar is empty!
Hello todays the day, first of all i want to say thankyou to everyone - for your votes and support! And thanks to Marmite flight control for such an awesome comp! The last few weeks Marmite has brought us a little piece of home. It has been awesome "meeting" new people, and its amazing seeing where and what kiwis are doing all across the globe. There are so many deserving kiwi's and i cant really tell you we deserve it more than anyone else, but i can stay that i've tryed my best with our entry and i hope everyone has enjoyed it! Marmite - One last time im going to ask. Please bring me and my little kiwibean to the homeland for a little needed "kiwi-time".
Quiche meet Marmite
Heres my last recipe! I hope you have enjoyed them. For this recipe You will need a pie shell (uncooked, just use your fave recipe or buy a premade one) Marmite, 1cup ham, 1/2 an onion, 1 cup of cheese, 1 tomato (i didnt have any so i added 1/2c salsa) 6 eggs, 1/2c milk and salt and pepper to taste. Ok so you will need to line a pie pan or quiche dish with your dough. (i recommend spraying first) Spread base with marmite. Sprinkle the cheese over marmite. In a pan sautee the ham and onion. Next layer the onion and ham over the cheese. Place on your sliced tomato(salsa). Beat eggs and milk togther in a bowl, adding salt and pepper to taste and pour into pie shell. Cook untill egg is set @ 200c. (around 45mins) Hope you like it!

Marmite pinwheels
You will need bread or scone dough (Just use your own recipe - plain) Ham, Cheese and Marmite. First on a floured board roll out your dough to around 1/2 cm thick (into a rectangle). Spread with marmite, followed by laying ham and cheese. I say that the amounts dont really matter, put on the amount you like - not over stuffing them tho, you want them to cook evenly. Roll, up in a pinwheel. Cut into roungs and put on a baking sheet. Bake for around 15 - 20mins at 200 (depending on what dough you use) I used bread dough! turned out great!
Stuffed bellpeppers
You will need 2 bellpeppers, 1lb of mince, 1T chopped garlic, 1 onion chopped, 1 T Marmite, 1 can of diced tomatoes, Cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Cut bellpeppers in half and take out the seeds. In fry pan brown mince. Once brown drain fat. Return to the pan and add onions and garlic. Once onion is cooked add the tomatoes and marmite. Cook for 10 mins. Stuff your mince filling inside the bellpeppers. Bake for 15mins. Then top with cheese and bake for another 10 mins. Enjoy now!

Feel like a marmite feast??
I have two recipes for today! Today i have a Marmite oil rub for a Roast, and Marmite, sausage and cashew stuffing. For the Rub you will need a tsp of marmite, 1 clove of finely diced garlic, 2 Tbs Of Oil, 1tsp Salt, 1/2tsp of pepper 1Tbs of poultry seasoning. Mix everything above in a bowl. (It will be messy). Work it all together the best you can and rub it into your roast. (i made chicken) and then Cook your roast as you normaly would! Now for my 2nd recipe - Marmite, sausage and cashew nut Stuffing. You will need 10 pieces of rough chopped bread, 8 Sausage links (breakfast), 1/2 C of cashews rough chop, 1 diced carrot 1 diced celery stalk and half a diced onion, 1 tsp of marmite, 1/4 - 1/2 c of hot water, 1 egg and salt and pepper to taste. Mix water and marmite in cup untill marmite is dissloved. Add all other items into a mixing bowl. Mix in Marmite liquid slowly untill mixture is wet but not soggy. Bake inside chicken, or in a bread pan at 200degrees for around 11/2 hours. Make sure inside temputure reaches 73c. Hope you enjoy. It was a treat for my family - I served each with baby roasted potatoes, baby spring greens and corn on the cobb.

Monte Cristo sandwich - with marmite goodness!
Hi all you marmite lovers! Here i have a monte cristo sandwich. Traditionally this sandwich is dipped entirety in egg batter and deep fried then served with powdered sugar, jam and syrup! This is my twist with some of our beloved marmite! You will need sourdough bread, Marmite, Deli turkey breast, Ham, Swiss cheese, 2egg. Method: Make a sandwich by spread a small amount of marmite on each piece of the bread, follow with ham, turkey and swiss. Dont Overload your sandwich because otherwise it will fall the pieces. In a bowl beat your egg very well. Then dip entire sandwich untill covered. Place in hot fryer right away! (Around 350F) Fry each side for around 2 mins. Let oil drain. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!

I actully had got this cornbread recipe online and added some goodies to it! You will need 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup yellow cornmeal, 2/3 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 egg, 1 cup milk, 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1/2c of sauteed Capsicum and 1 finely diced and sauteed jalenpeno, 1 T Marmite. 1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease a 9 inch round cake pan. 2.In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk, Capsicum, jalenpeno, marmite and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan. 3.Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. If sweet but spicy! It you dont like spicy food skip the chili! I enjoyed this with honey butter.

"Kiwi" corn on the Cob
Yummy! My recipe of the day. A little sweet but still has the marmite flavour. You will need 2 ears of corn (husked), 1 Heaped Tablespoon of Marmite, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of butter. Pretty much mix melt the butter and mix with the marmite and honey. Start grilling corn over a med heat. Baste the corn with the marmite mixture during cooking. Watch carefully because it will burn easy. Remove once cooked.(mine took like 10mins) I like to sit mine in a plastic bag for 5 mins afterwards. (it kinda steams them) Enjoy! I thought these were great! *i served with a bacon spinach salad)

Really easy! you need 1 "hotdog" (frank) 1 Strip of bacon, 1 piece of bread, Marmite, Butter and cheese. Method: First wrap bacon around hotdog. Cook untill the bacon is crispy. (the hotdog is precooked normaly so they just need heating) Spread, the butter and marmite over the bread then sprinkle with cheese while the hotdog is cooking. Chile Relleno - Kiwi Style!
Well i know this isnt really something us kiwis would eat, but this is mine and my husbnds cultures put together into a dish and this is a little something inspired by marmite. When we normaly make this dish we stuff it with Queso Fresco (cheese) and/or shrimp. I dont even know if you can get all these things in NZ, let alone other countrys but its too good to not put up!This recipe will make 1. You will need 1 Poblano chile, 1 egg white, flour, 1/2 t marmite, 1/2c cheese, 1 T oil. First fire roast the Chile over an open flame and put in a plastic bag to steam for 5 mins. (make sure chile is soft) Remove from bag and peel all the skin off. Cut a med size slit in the chile and remove the seeds. Open carefully with out tearing and spread marmite lightly around the inside of the chile. Stuff the chile with the cheese and hold together with a toothpick. (once again be careful not to tear). Beat the egg white untill you form peaks. Roll chile in flour and then cover in the beaten egg whites. Fry the chile in the pan untill all the egg whites are cooked. (the cheese should all be melted) Serve over spanish rice, with salsa and avacado!

Marmite Rice
You will need 1t oil, 1 cup of rice (i like to mix white and wild rice) 1 T Marmite and 2c of hot water. heat oil in pot and brown rice. While rice is browning mix marmite and water together. Pour liquid in to pot cover and reduce the heat to a low so it can simmer. Let cook for 15-20 mins. There you have it Marmite rice! Yummy!

Marmite pesto sauce
Really quick and easy recipe! But really great on chicken! You need 2T of pesto (basil, parmesan, garlic, oil) 1t of marmite and cream! Just heat the marmite and pesto in a hot pan, mix untill blended together and slowly add cream. Only add a small amount at a time untill you have the consistency you want for a sauce and let simmer. I really loved this sauce!
Oh marmite, how can i convince you....
No witty capition. no amazing picture, nothing really special at all. Its just us!! Marmite, please let us be some of the kiwis lucky enough to get home!

That photo takes my breath away - it is soooooo Kiwi! And you can use the fern frond in cooking in the same way as you use asparagus too - it's delicious. Thanks for making me feel homesick Kylie. Yet another of my votes coming the way of you and Xavier.

Marmite, Cheese and Aspargus Stuffed Chicken.
This is really easy to make, the amount doesnt really matter i just say you as much as you like. Simply butterfly your chicken breast half way and place the marmite, cheese, and aspargus (sautee first) into your chicken. Season! Tie with butchers string. Brown in frying pan, (make sure your pan is hot) then bake in oven untill cooked. Its really yummy. Try it with some Marmite pesto!

Marmite Swirl Bread
You will need 1cup luke warm water, 1/4c of each sugar and oil, 2 T yeast 1/2t salt, 3cups of flour - and marmite. (you will also need a cakemixer, unless you wanna spend all day kneading!) Mix water, sugar , oil , yeast and salt in your mixing bowl. Mix well and wait for yeast to react. If your water is the wrong temputure you can kill the yeast and it wont rise. After this add flour and mix for around for 5 mins or so with the dough hook. ( pretty much this is all the kneading it needs) Put in a greased bowl and cover with plastic. Sit in a warm place. Wait for your bread to proof, then hit it, and let it proof one more time. Now its time to roll. Get your marmite and place in the middle and fold your bread a few times. Roll in to a french loaf and bake at 190c for 20 mins - 40mins. * Note - i havent really made this in small portions so i have broken it down the best i can, hopefully it will be perfect!*

The photo doesnt do it justice!!!
Here i have a portabella mushroom stuffed with onion, ham, Marmite and ricotta. There isnt really a recipe, i just put it together. First i cleaned the mushroom and sauteed it off so it was half cooked and removed it from the pan. Then is the same pan I put in a handful of ham and onions (diced) and sauteed untill the onions were tender. In a bowl i mixed around half a cup of ricotta and a teaspoon of marmite. Then i added the ham and onion. Next i stuffed the mushroom with the ricotta mix and topped with breadcrumbs. Then baked it in oven for 10mins. It taste good, i think all the flavours blend well. If you dont like the texture of ricotta you could maybe try cream cheese.
