Simon Lewis - Winner !
THE FINAL WORD???
Dear Marmite,
First of all thank you for this opportunity to get back home.
The timing of it couldn't be more perfect for me.
I have been on a 2yr working holiday visa and have been away for about a a year and a half.
This will be the first time in about 3yrs all our family is in the same country at the same time!
My Dad is having his 60th birthday on Dec4th so it would be fantastic to get back home for that,I also can't wait to see my new little Nephew.
I would like to say a special thank you to the Lauder family and Morris family for all their on going support through out the campaign.
There is also a huge amount of individuals, (who are also trying to get home) that I would like to thank, I'm sorry I'm not going to list you all but thank you for all the support over the last couple of months.
My family : mum, dad, sisters, bro's inlaw, cousins, aunties, uncles, nephews, grandparents, friends, workmates, Fldg people, Manawatu people and anyone else I have missed out.
This has been an awesome experience and I think a lot of people are going to look back on the "Marmite 2010" (bringingkiwishome) and share a few good stories.
Maybe you could put out an "old school" (retro), t-shirt line to celebrate when the lucky 100 get home.
I know a lot of people on here with a good imagination and lots of ideas!!!
Thanks again Marmite, hope to see you all again soon in New Zealand,
Cheers Si.

I can't thank everybody enough for the support they have shown over the last couple of months. I can't believe the way this competition has bought N.Z families closer together? I have learnt so much about so many different kiwis in the same position as me. I'm sure we we all look back on "The Marmite competition of 2010", and share a few stories about it. Thank you again Marmite for this opportunity to get back home to see all the family and friends!

I haven't seen them for about a year and a half now so it would be great if Marmite could help me out??? Especially since its going to be my Dad's 60th birthday on Dec 4th, I'll be a couple of days late, but I'm sure he won't mind.....

Marmite at my old flat!!!
This was my old flat back in Fldg, and is how I remember a typical N.Z house. My room was on the front left and we spent a lot of time on the front porch socialising on a Saturday nite after a hard game of rugby, with a speaker out the window, having a few Marmite sandwiches with friends.

THANKS MARMITE!!!
Dear Marmite, thank you for this opportunity to get back home! It has been really fun putting together a web page and viewing everybody elses page aswell.
There has been a lot going on back home since I have been away ; new babies, my dad's 60th is coming up in Dec and a few friends have (sadly) passed away.
I have also found alot of things on other peoples pages that I have been missing from back home: foods, sayings, kiwiana, culture, pictures, photos....etc.
I have also met a lot of friends on here and to hear their stories on where they have been, where they are now, has been really amazing.
Its also cool to see all the support from mum's,dad's,sisters.brothers, inlaws grandparents, cousins, families, friends, cats, dogs, goats, chooks.
It has also been awesome that other peoples families have "adopted" and supported other kiwis in the same situation as their loved ones, to help out and try to get them back home.
I would just like to thank everybody that has taken time out of their day to log on and vote, I know their is a huge amount of people (more than I can list) and would just like THANKS EVERYONE!!!
There is also a few people I would like to stay in touch with, I don't know the best way? maybe through facebook?

Here's a shot of us all nite canyoning, it was a little bit intimidating jumping off a 5mtr ledge, pitch black, into water, when everybody down below has turned all their headlamps off, all you could see was a semi-circle of glow sticks (attached to lifejackets) to land in the middle of.

We don't know how lucky we are!!! (My house for 2 1/2mths)
WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO... I have a 2yr working holiday visa for the U.K. For the last year and a half I have been working as an outdoor instructor (rafting guide) in Perthshire/Scotland. This is very seasonal running from May-Oct. After this I visited my older sister and bro inlaw for 3mths.(who have shifted back to N.Z now). (I'd just like to say a big thanks to them for letting me doss on their couch and spare bed, when available!). Between seasons I got a job in South Africa as a rafting guide, from Dec-May, (I'm back in Scotland now). This was definitely an eye opening experience to a different way of life, new foods and animals I would never see back home! After flying into Durban I was abit surprised to hear our guides accomodation had fallen through and we would be living in a tent and caravan for the next 3mths! This was definitely a learning experience as our tent got blown down 3 times in the first 2wks by the huge thunder storms that roll through at nite time. We often got woken up at nite time by (what we thought was an earthquake) was actually the local herdsmen's cattle scratching on the caravan at 3am. The storms would also knock out the power when we would be cooking dinner at nite, we would have to unplug all the computers and everything in the office too otherwise they would all get fried by the lightening. Sometimes there would be no hot water for showers, sometimes no hot water at all. We found a snake under the caravan and if you didn't lock all the food away in the caravan fridge or "chilly bin" rats would also move in with you! If you are really lucky you may find one of the dogs from base asleep in your bed when you get home with (ticks fleas and all!) Still I have no regerets whatsoever and the experiences far outweigh the downfalls. I definitely know how lucky we are in New Zealand and can't wait to get back home to see family and friends, with normal walls, roofs and windows. So please MARMITE can you fly this Kiwi home! Thanks Simon.

I've seen flats on Ada Street in Palmy that look more inhabitable than that.

Oh dear now I feel silly moaning about my little flat!! Plenty of outdoor space though I guess!

Yeah it was awesome down there, I loved it. We had massive thunderstorms at nite and beautiful sunny weather during the day, 27-35 deg, I'd love to go back some day, if my funds allowed.

My parents plus a new edition...(Tabitha).
I'd like to say a big thanks to my Mum and Dad (Diane and Kerry) for all the support. Hopefully I will be catching up with you both soon and will have a few celebrations for my Dad's 60th birthday Dec 4th. I am also keen to meet the new edition Tabitha the cat. Since our old farm dog "Shadow" the black Labrador passed away at an old age of 11, he has been replaced by quite a large sized Tabby. See you soon!

Can't wait to see my older sister and brother in law, there is always abit of competition when we get together, see you at Christmas for some dirt biking and wakeboarding action.
Marmite at the Go-Karting track
Marmite goes Go-karting, there were some close battles a few crashes and spins, Louis was 1st, Pete 2nd and I had to settle with the bronze. Bring on round 3, Marmite will be there!!!!!!
Marmite and Go-Karts
Marmite goes Go-Karting, sadly we weren't allowed to take the glass jar on the track, but we got some good shots anyway.
